Snowman Chocolate Bark

If you’re looking for holiday baking ideas that don’t require baking, then you’ll love this cute snowman bark! Made with just five ingredients, it’s a perfect treat for the holidays.

Why This Chocolate Bark Recipe Works!

  • Easy: This simple snowman chocolate bark recipe uses only five ingredients and takes about 15 minutes to make.
  • No Baking Required: If baking isn’t your thing, make bark! The only appliance you need is a microwave.
  • Perfect for Gifts: These cute snowmen would make perfect holiday gifts, wrapped in cellophane bags or festive tins with a handwritten card or a cute snowman-themed gift tag.

Chocolate Bark Ingredients

  • Chocolate Chips: To make this bark healthier, I used Lily’s sugar-free chocolate chips. You can use their milk chocolate or semi-sweet chips.
  • Marshmallows: You’ll need 27 mini marshmallows for the snowmen’s bodies.
  • Sprinkles: Use white nonpareil sprinkles for the snow.
  • Pretzels: Add pretzel sticks for the snowmen’s arms.
  • Edible Ink Markers: Use edible ink markers to draw the faces on the marshmallows. You can find them at craft stores, Amazon, or some supermarkets.

How to Make Snowman Chocolate Bark

  1. Prep: Draw faces on nine marshmallows and cut your pretzels into half-inch pieces.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Microwave the chips, stirring every 30 seconds. The total time will vary depending on your microwave, but it should take about 1 ½ to 2 minutes.
  3. Create the Snowmen: Pour the melted chocolate into a 9-x-13-inch pan lined with parchment paper. Add the marshmallows and pretzel arms and then the sprinkles.
  4. Serve the Bark: Refrigerate the bark until hard and then break it into nine pieces.

Variations

  • Hats: Give the snowmen hats by placing a Rolo or Reese’s cup cut in half above the marshmallow face.
  • Markers: If you don’t want to buy edible markers, no worries—you can skip the face-drawing step.
  • Chocolate Chips: Use regular chocolate chips or even white chocolate ones.
  • Sprinkles: Swap white sprinkles with red and green.
  • Peppermint: Stir in peppermint extract to the melted chocolate for a hint of mint. You could also sprinkle on crushed-up candy canes instead of sprinkles.

How long will chocolate bark last?

Keep bark stored in an airtight container refrigerated or in a cool, dry place for up to one week.

This tasty snowman chocolate bark is perfect for the holidays, and it’s easy to make as well! Satisfy your sweet tooth with this delicious treat.

Recipe

Prep: 15 minutes | Total: 45 minutes | Yield: 9 servings | Serving Size: 1 ounce piece

Line a small 9 x 13-inch sheet pan with parchment paper. Set aside. Using the edible markers, make a snowman face on 9 small marshmallows. Plan where you will be placing the snowman so they will be easy to cut equally later. Have your pretzels cut and ready because once the chocolate hardens they won’t stick. Pour the chocolate into a medium microwave-safe bowl. Melt the chocolate in the microwave, stirring the chocolate every 30 seconds to help avoid seizing. Once melted and smooth, set aside. This took me about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, but will vary with every microwave. When you’re ready, pour chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet, spreading with a rubber spatula into a smooth layer almost to the edge. Quickly add the marshmallows to create your snowmen, then add the pretzel arms and lastly add the sprinkles, for snow. Allow the bark to set completely in the refrigerator, about 30 minutes. Once hardened, break into 9 pieces about 1 ounce each. Last Step: Please leave a rating and comment letting us know how you liked this recipe!
