I enjoy curating my own playlists for my morning walk with my mp3 player, rather than using Spotify. Currently, I’ve been listening to my ‘inspire’ playlist, which includes songs that motivate and uplift me through my current challenges. Some of these songs hold personal significance, while others were picked up randomly during my travels.
One standout example is when I heard “Fighter” by Christina Aguilar while shopping in a supermarket in Newport, Rhode Island. The refrain resonated with me and instantly drew me in. Each song in my playlist has its own special meaning and serves as a source of strength and inspiration.
My Inspire Playlist
Right Now by Van Halen – Guaranteed to get me moving and energized.
Tubthumping by Chumbawamba – Gives me a feeling of empowerment and courage.
2 Legit 2 Quit by MC Hammer – I love the refrain and the energy it brings.
Higher Ground by Stevie Wonder – Mainlines hope right into my being.
Hold Your Head Up by Argent
Light and Day by Polyphonic Spree – An uplifting antidote to dark moments.
Second Wind by Billy Joel
Waiting is the Hardest Part by Tom Petty – Helps me stay on track when waiting for results.
Break My Stride by Matthew Wilder – An ode to moving forward.
I also find “Stars and Stripes Forever” particularly moving, especially as we approach Veterans’ Day.
The Finale to Beethoven’s Ninth “Ode to Joy” – A powerful expression of joy despite adversity.
