NHS Dorset Invites Patients to Shape Future Digital Health Services
NHS Dorset is seeking volunteers to join its Digital Public Engagement Group, aimed at developing and influencing upcoming digital health and care services for the local community.
The Group will collaborate closely with NHS Dorset and other health organizations on various initiatives focused on enhancing physical and mental well-being, including areas such as women’s health, cancer, and managing long-term conditions like diabetes and asthma.
Stephen Slough, Chief Digital Information Officer at NHS Dorset, emphasized the importance of leveraging technology advancements for improving individual and family health. He highlighted the positive impact of tools like home monitoring devices, health apps, and online consultations in empowering individuals and alleviating pressures on healthcare services.
The Digital Public Engagement Group comprises individuals of diverse backgrounds and ages, welcoming both tech-savvy individuals and those with a budding interest in digital health. The group, established in 2021 with over 30 members from Dorset, aims to provide insight and constructive feedback to drive digital health and care advancements in the region, ultimately enhancing patient outcomes and experiences.
Patient groups like the DPEG play a crucial role in advancing the digital health agenda. Drawing parallels, the OneLondon Citizen Advisory Group in London recognized the importance of patient input in shaping health and care data usage.
Interested individuals can apply to join the Digital Public Engagement Group until 1 May 2024.
