Nathan is a North Country native who recently began teaching at the Senior Planet Center in North Country. Previously, he worked as a public speaking coach and consultant.
We had a conversation with this coffee enthusiast to discuss the highlights of his experience at Senior Planet and how he incorporates cat memes into the classroom.
What do you teach at Senior Planet?
As an in-person instructor, I teach basic courses at the Center. My favorite workshops are the “Getting Started” series, which cover essential apps like Zoom and the design platform Canva.
I strive to make my classes enjoyable and engaging, often incorporating cat memes into the lessons.
Here’s an example cat meme:
“Hope this email finds you well”
How the email found me:”
What is your favorite part of the job?
I love facilitating connections among participants. The sense of community and connection that develops through these classes is truly meaningful.
“Aging with attitude means instead of getting beat up as you age, you become more upbeat.”
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I have a deep passion for trying different types of coffee and experimenting with roasting my own beans. Additionally, I am an avid fan of stand-up comedy and occasionally perform at open mic events.
What does aging with attitude mean to you?
Aging with attitude is about maintaining a positive and enthusiastic outlook on life, embracing all the new experiences that come with it.
