Global healthcare AI firm Huma announced its acquisition of GP online consultation and digital triage startup, eConsult, for an undisclosed amount.
This acquisition follows a successful $80 million (£60m) Series D funding round in July 2024, bringing Huma’s total raised amount to over $300 million (£226m).
Founder and CEO of Huma, Dan Vahdat, expressed excitement about the acquisition, stating, “This acquisition brings us closer to our goal of becoming the end-to-end technology platform for the industry, enabling seamless delivery of digital-first care at scale.”
The acquisition of eConsult, estimated to be valued between $49m (£37m) and $73m (£55m) by Dealroom, will integrate their triage and automated consultation features into Huma Workspace. The platform, launched on 2nd October 2024, aims to provide a wide range of digital health solutions for primary care providers, community, secondary care providers, and integrated care boards.
Huma Workspace, powered by Huma intelligence (Hi), automates tasks such as documentation, smart reports, and communication to increase clinical productivity and staff efficiency. It offers features like appointment booking, automated prescriptions, teleconsultation, remote monitoring, virtual wards, and more.
Speaking about the acquisition, Dr Murray Ellender, chief executive of eConsult, highlighted the importance of leveraging technology in healthcare and shifting towards digital-first solutions. The integration of eConsult into Huma Workspace marks a significant step towards accelerating digital healthcare services.
Overall, the acquisition of eConsult aligns with Huma’s strategic vision of revolutionizing healthcare delivery through advanced technology integration and underscores their commitment to enhancing patient care experiences and clinical efficiency.
