Hello there! I hope you’re having a fantastic weekend! I wanted to share one of my favorite beauty DIYs with you: the Turmeric Face Scrub. Turmeric is a vibrant yellow spice derived from the Curcuma longa plant, part of the ginger family. It has been used for centuries in traditional Ayurvedic and Chinese herbalism for its functional properties.
Curcumin, a key compound in turmeric, is known for its powerful antioxidant properties and ability to support a balanced immune system and response to environmental stressors, along with neuroprotective attributes. Incorporating turmeric into your routine can be beneficial in various ways, including as a supplement or in recipes like golden milk.
Turmeric also offers skin benefits and can be used topically in a facial scrub. Making your own turmeric face scrub allows you to control the ingredients and customize it to suit your needs. Ingredients like coconut sugar for exfoliation, almond oil for moisture, vitamin E for nutrients, essential oils for scent, and turmeric for its antioxidant properties can all be blended together to create a nourishing scrub.
To make a simple turmeric facial scrub, mix brown sugar, oil, vitamin E, turmeric, and essential oils. Gently massage the scrub onto your face, let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse off for a refreshed and glowing complexion. Store the scrub in the fridge for a cooling effect.
