Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children has partnered with five other top European children’s hospitals for the groundbreaking PHEMS project. The project, funded by the Horizon Europe programme and UK Research and Innovation, aims to transform how children’s health data is managed and utilized for research and innovation. The collaborative effort will focus on developing a decentralized health data ecosystem while ensuring patient privacy and data protection. This initiative will also pave the way for advancements in therapies, care outcomes assessment, and the integration of AI in pediatric healthcare. Great Ormond Street Hospital will lead the first clinical use case, focusing on the management of cardiology patient pathways. This collaboration represents a significant step towards advancing healthcare services for children across Europe, while preserving the confidentiality of patient data.
