The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has released a tender seeking a partner organization to lead projects aimed at enhancing the digital skills of the adult social care workforce. The ultimate goal is to empower the workforce to comfortably embrace technology and adopt digital practices in their day-to-day work.
The chosen organization will be tasked with spearheading specific projects to support the ASC workforce in this regard. DHSC’s tender notice emphasizes the importance of the selected organization having prior experience in leading projects related to ASC workforce digitization and possessing established stakeholder networks within the ASC workforce for effective collaboration.
The tender outlines five key projects that the partner organization will be engaged in:
- Project 1 – Digital Skills Self-Assessment Tool: A tool to assist the ASC workforce in assessing their current digital skill levels against the Digital Skills Framework.
- Project 2 – What Good Looks Like Self-Assessment Tool: Development of a tool to aid care providers in implementing the What Good Looks Like guidance for social care.
- Project 3 – Awarding Organisation and Training Provider Direct Support: Support for AO and TP organizations to enhance their capacity to deliver digital skills training and qualifications in ASC.
- Project 4 – Digitising Social Care Communications and Engagement Support: Assistance in implementing the program’s internal communications strategy through activities like webinars and blog posts to guide the ASC sector in their digital transformation.
- Project 5 – Supporting Implementation of the National Digital Workforce Plan: Ensuring the comprehensive involvement of the ASC workforce in the plan’s execution.
The contract, valued at £475,000, was published on 21 May 2024 and is slated to run for nine months until 6 March 2025. Interested parties must submit their applications by 6 June at 9 am.
