The World Health Organization (WHO) recently released new guidelines on “person-centred” HIV strategic information as part of its latest policy brief on digital health data. These guidelines aim to assist countries in enhancing the collection, analysis, and utilization of routine patient data. The brief also emphasizes the importance of investing in digital systems and promoting interoperability, both technically and organizationally.
Furthermore, WHO/Europe and the European Commission have established a EUR12 million partnership to strengthen health information systems and improve health data governance and interoperability in the WHO European region. This four-year project seeks to support nearly one billion people across 53 countries, with the goal of enhancing the use and reuse of health data and improving the quality and interoperability of health information systems.
Additionally, work is underway to enhance HIV offerings, with sexual health software provider Inform Health announcing improvements to its HIV software aimed at streamlining clinic resources and enhancing the patient experience. These developments highlight the ongoing efforts to combat HIV and improve health data systems globally.
