UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center Aberdeen, part of UMMS, recently hosted a ribbon-cutting celebration to mark the opening of its new 130,000-square-foot facility in Aberdeen, Md.
The state-of-the-art center features an emergency department, observation care area, helipad, and a behavioral health pavilion offering both inpatient and outpatient care.
The facility’s design includes patient rooms equipped with telehealth systems, as well as specially designed ED rooms that adhere to geriatric standards, featuring padded floors, easy-to-read signage, and bright lighting.
Furthermore, the behavioral health pavilion features an exterior courtyard and conference rooms available for community use.
In addition to the medical center, a 93,000-square-foot health and wellness center has also opened, providing a wide range of clinical services such as primary care, endocrinology and diabetes care, cardiology, hematology and oncology, infusion services, wound care, orthopedics, physical therapy, and rehabilitation.
