NHS Scotland’s Right Decision Service is revolutionizing the way clinicians access clinical guidance and policy tools with the help of the Tactuum Quris platform. This national project, funded by the Scottish Government and led by Healthcare Improvement Scotland, aims to provide clinicians in Scotland with easy access to standardized, validated decision support tools for safer patient care.
Through the use of Tactuum Quris Clinical Companion software, the Right Decision Service hosts a variety of clinical guidance and policy resources developed by health boards and specialist services. It also offers a suite of decision support tools developed in collaboration with InnoScot Health. Dr. Ann Wales, programme lead for knowledge and decision support at Healthcare Improvement Scotland, emphasizes the importance of having a centralized platform for clinicians to access national and local guidelines, pathways, calculators, and other decision support tools.
Tactuum’s Quris Clinical Companion was designed specifically for NHS health boards and trusts to manage the development and publication of clinical guidance and policies. Mark Buchner, CEO of Tactuum, highlights the success of integrating Quris into a single service for professionals across Scotland, serving over 90,000 users. The collaboration between Tactuum, Healthcare Improvement Scotland, and the Digital Health and Care Innovation Centre aims to further enhance front-line staff and patient care through innovative solutions.
Currently, the Right Decision Service delivers tools to various healthcare organizations in Scotland, with plans to integrate decision support into electronic health record systems and utilize AI for faster guidelines development. This partnership between Tactuum and healthcare organizations showcases the potential for scalable, integrated solutions that benefit clinicians and patients alike.
