Ascension Living announced on Tuesday that Erin Shadbolt has been appointed as the new CEO. Shadbolt, who joined the organization in 2022, has taken on various roles including chief nursing officer of post-acute and at-home services and interim COO.
Prior to Shadbolt, Christopher Caserta was named CEO in 2023 but left the organization later that year. Shadbolt will also serve as the vice president of post-acute and at-home services, bringing her expertise in post-acute care operations, finance, growth, compliance, quality improvement, and strategic planning to the role.
In a press release, Shadbolt expressed her excitement for the future of Ascension Living and its commitment to providing the highest quality of care and life enriching opportunities for residents, families, and staff.
Before joining Ascension, Shadbolt worked at the Mayo Clinic Health System as a nurse administrator, overseeing inpatient and outpatient obstetrics. Ascension Living, a part of the Catholic health system Ascension, operates 35 senior living communities in 11 states and is ranked as the nation’s fifth-largest senior living nonprofit according to the 2023 LeadingAge-Ziegler 250.
