Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust Partners with Netcall to Launch Innovative Diagnostic Booking Solution
In a bid to enhance patient access and engagement, Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust has recently introduced a cutting-edge diagnostic booking solution developed in collaboration with Netcall. This groundbreaking app, which was officially launched in April 2024, harnesses Netcall’s state-of-the-art low-code technology to streamline the diagnostic booking process.
By seamlessly extracting data from radiology information systems, the app automatically presents suitable appointment slots to patients, enabling them to self-serve without the need to contact the booking center. This not only reduces call waiting times for patients but also lightens the administrative load on staff.
Steve Cheung, head of radiology at Rotherham, expressed his enthusiasm for the new system in a press release: “The introduction of this user-friendly X-ray appointment booking portal allows patients to schedule their appointments at their convenience using their mobile phone, tablet, or computer.”

Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust’s integration of national GP Connect into its technology systems in February 2024 has further enabled authorized health and social care workers to access patients’ GP records, enhancing overall patient care.
Meanwhile, Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust is set to implement Netcall’s patient engagement portal, Patient Hub, in the fall of 2024, aiming to empower patients in managing their healthcare journeys autonomously.
