When I first joined Senior Planet seven years ago, it was a small nonprofit with a big mission – to disrupt aging by empowering older adults with tech skills. Our staff meetings were cozy affairs, fueled by pizza and passionate discussions about innovation. But everything changed when COVID hit.
During the pandemic, being tech savvy went from being a nice-to-have to a necessity. As someone who’s almost 70, I feel a deep connection to our readers and a strong motivation to provide them with valuable content. Thanks to Senior Planet, I’ve conquered my fear of technology and can now easily use tools like FaceTime and Zoom.
As we celebrate Older Adults Technology Services’ 20th anniversary, I raise a glass to how far we’ve come and look forward to the exciting future ahead.
