NHS England has released a heavily redacted version of its 586-page contract with US data giant Palantir to operate the new Federated Data Platform. Significant parts of the content, including most of the information under the heading “protection of personal data,” have been blocked out. The contract, awarded to Palantir in late November for £330 million, extends over seven years, with minimum investment expected in the first year. The redacted contract has raised concerns about transparency and the future integrity of health data. Furthermore, leaked emails suggesting that Palantir hired a PR agency to pay influencers to attack critics have added to the controversy surrounding the contract.
