NHS England Misses Deadline to Release Less Redacted Palantir Contract
NHS England failed to meet its commitment to upload a less redacted version of the federated data platform (FDP) contract by March 11, as stated by legal transparency advocates the Good Law Project.
The contract with data analytics giant Palantir, which was published in December, had more than 70% of its content blacked out, including crucial details on data protection, financial information, and key personnel.
The Good Law Project has taken legal action against NHSE, arguing that the extensive redactions are unlawful and go against government transparency guidelines.
If NHSE fails to republish the contract by Friday, the Good Law Project may proceed with further legal action.
NHSE has not provided a comment on the matter yet.
Recent reports suggest that NHSE continued negotations with Palantir after awarding the FDP contract, leading to heavy redactions in the contract based on ongoing commercial negotiations.
The Good Law Project is considering additional legal action against NHSE for what they believe to be unlawful contract renegotiation.
