NHS Orkney to Implement Cambric Systems’ Morse EPR App in 2025

In a move to provide staff with easy access to patient data, NHS Orkney has announced plans to go live with Cambric Systems’ Morse electronic patient record (EPR) app in 2025.

The deal with Cambric Systems, a leading supplier of healthcare patient data software solutions in Scotland, was finalized in September 2024 after a thorough evaluation process.

Cambric is currently collaborating with NHS Orkney to map out the deployment of the app, with the expectation of launching the first services in early 2025.

The Morse app will initially be utilized by community mental health teams before being extended to other healthcare professionals like nurses and physiotherapists.

NHS Orkney’s Head of Development, Debs Crohn, emphasized that the implementation of Morse is a vital part of the organization’s digital transformation strategy, aiming to enhance connectivity and efficiency among staff members.

By leveraging Morse, NHS Orkney anticipates improved productivity, financial benefits, and better decision-making through enriched data collection for service planning.

The Morse solution stood out for its flexibility in providing easy access to patient records, particularly beneficial for community staff working in remote and rural areas with unreliable connectivity.

Overall, the app is set to streamline workflows, eliminate manual paperwork, and ensure seamless access to patient information for improved healthcare outcomes.

Garry Sherriff, the Managing Director at Cambric, highlighted that the Morse solution will empower healthcare professionals in delivering critical patient information at the point of care, ultimately supporting NHS Scotland’s digital healthcare initiatives.

With successful deployments in various NHS organizations, Cambric is enthusiastic about expanding into the NHS England market in the future.

Previous adopters of the Morse EPR app include NHS Forth Valley, NHS Fife, NHS Western Isles Health Board, and the National Treatment Centre Highland, showcasing the growing popularity and effectiveness of the solution in enhancing patient care.
