NHS App Adds New Features: Estimated Waiting Times and Prescription Details
Starting January 30, patients using the NHS App will have access to two new features. They can now see the estimated waiting time for hospital treatment and view all prescription details. This update comes as part of an NHS campaign to encourage more people to use the app in their daily lives, aiming to free up time on the frontline.
Patients aged 16 and over in England who are referred to a specialty at NHS acute trusts will now be able to view the average waiting time for their hospital treatment. This will provide them with valuable information about their place on the waiting list and an estimate of how long they may wait for treatment.
Furthermore, a new prescription service is being added to the app, allowing patients to check when their prescriptions have been issued and view their prescribed medication. This feature follows a successful trial last year involving over a million users.
The NHS App will continue to add services to improve patient care. With over 33.6 million registered users since its launch five years ago, the app is making healthcare more accessible and convenient for patients.
