The panel of a lively Digital Health Networks debate on standardizing EPR systems and the risks of creating monopolies in the NHS hospital EPR market shared the view that there is no current monopoly, but more needs to be done to develop supplier relationships. Chaired by Digital Health CEO Jon Hoeksma, the panel consisted of Devesh Sinha, Peter White, Dr. Penny Kechagioglou, and Adrian Byrne. The panel agreed that while there is no monopoly, there is still room for improvement in dialogue and partnership with suppliers. Dr. Kechagioglou emphasized the need to be mindful of monopolies, while Byrne expressed a hope for more equal players in the market. Sinha pointed out the potential for a future monopoly, but acknowledged the opportunity within it. White also agreed that there is opportunity within a potential monopoly, emphasizing the need to encourage and support innovation across the NHS.
