Jackson Parish Hospital in Jonesboro, Louisiana has commenced a groundbreaking expansion project totaling $11 million. The first phase involves revamping patient and vehicle traffic flow outside the hospital, as well as combining the former surgery and business office areas to create an expanded endoscopy suite and parts of a new emergency department (ED) area.
The second phase will entail demolishing the former ED to upgrade and rebuild it. The new ED will feature eight treatment rooms and two trauma rooms, as well as improved access to the new surgery space’s single trauma room and three treatment areas. Additionally, plans include a new ambulance bay and a 46-car parking lot.
Phase 1 is scheduled for completion by the end of 2024, while Phase 2 is expected to be concluded in summer 2025.
