Sharing my experience completing the Integrative Health Practitioner Level Two course has been incredibly rewarding. After over 100 hours of coursework, continuing education, and challenging tests, I am now a certified Level Two Integrative Health Practitioner. This certification has allowed me to add functional medicine labs to my list of services, not only for clients but also for myself and my family.
Level Two of the Integrative Health Practitioner program was everything I had hoped for and more. The in-depth study of functional labs, taught by Dr. Stephen Cabral himself, was exactly what I needed to enhance my health coaching skills. Dr. Cabral’s ability to present complex information in an accessible way made the learning process enjoyable and practical.
The program focused on specific home lab tests, how to run them, and how to analyze the results to recommend corresponding protocols. The labs I learned to read include Food Sensitivity Testing, Parasite and Bacteria Stool Testing, Organic Acids (Metabolic and Minerals), Omega-3, Adrenal Hormone, Thyroid Adrenal Hormone, HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis), and more.
One key takeaway from the program is that hormone balance, cortisol levels, and metabolism play a significant role in weight management. By identifying hidden inflammatory triggers and hormone imbalances through functional lab testing, we can uncover what needs to be rebalanced in the body. These labs provide unique information about individual body needs and responses.
The program also provided exact protocols and handouts used by Dr. Cabral with his clients, setting us up for success. Additional resources such as Q&A Zoom calls, a private Facebook group, and ongoing updates to the platform make the learning experience comprehensive and supportive.
If you are considering becoming a certified health coach, I highly recommend the Integrative Health Practitioner program. Completing both Level One and Level Two certifications, especially if you are interested in reading functional labs, is a valuable investment. You do not need to be currently working in the health and wellness field to join the program, as many participants have successfully transitioned to new careers. The mission of IHP is to empower individuals to heal themselves and help others live their healthiest lives, a mission I am passionate about and grateful to be a part of.
Upon completing the Level Two certification, acquiring insurance to conduct functional lab tests is necessary to practice. Personally, I have found this certification to be a significant addition to my coaching practice and have been able to apply the knowledge gained to support my own healing journey and assist family and friends on their paths to wellness.
