Research conducted by Garden Spot Communities, in collaboration with the Center for Health Design and Composure, found that utilizing a “sonic treatment” could significantly improve the quality of sleep for older adults with dementia. The study involved 36 residents and showed promising results, including a reduction in daytime drowsiness and increased independence during the day. The findings, published in Sage Journals, have paved the way for Garden Spot to implement this innovative approach in other areas of care within the community. With the success of the program, staff stress levels have decreased, leading to a more positive work environment. This initiative is part of Garden Spot’s ongoing efforts to enhance memory care operations and provide the best possible care for residents.
