BT Group’s digital and startup incubation hub, Etc., is expanding its preventative remote care initiative in the North of England. This initiative aims to benefit 238,000 patients by focusing on preventing, detecting, and managing cardiovascular disease. With support from NHS Cheshire and Merseyside, the second phase of the initiative will be rolled out across 26 GP practices, reaching 228,000 patients in Warrington, Cheshire. The platform allows clinicians to monitor patients remotely, while patients can upload their vitals and biometrics through an app. The proactive solution is estimated to save £1.5 million in healthcare costs over three years and supports the NHS’s Long Term Plan to prevent thousands of strokes, heart attacks, and dementia cases. Additionally, Etc. has developed a Smart Practice offering to improve GP demand management and patient experience. Neal Herman, director of HealthTech at BT’s incubation hub, emphasized the company’s mission to connect people to the right care at the right time.
