A study conducted by Silver Buck on communications for health tech and digital health companies revealed that the majority found it more difficult to sell to the NHS in 2023 compared to previous years. The survey found that 58% of companies, particularly start-ups and scale-ups, faced challenges in selling to the NHS. This may be attributed to the significance of established brands and clear proof points of larger corporations in the sector. Despite a decrease in NHS health tech funding and VC interest, PR and marketing budgets for health tech and digital health companies either increased or remained the same in 2023. Trade shows were considered to deliver the most impact in helping companies meet their goals, followed by social media. Digital Health emerged as the most-read trade publication, indicating a preference for independent platforms over official ones.
