The telemedicine provider, Consultant Connect, has successfully helped over 200,000 patients steer clear of unnecessary hospital visits in 2023. Its innovative technology equips NHS clinicians with expert advice from consultants, ensuring that patients receive suitable care and reducing wait times for everyone. Last year alone, healthcare staff made 400,000 calls and sent one million photos through Consultant Connect, streamlining communication in the NHS. Jonathan Patrick, CEO at Consultant Connect, emphasized the significant contribution of their technology in alleviating long waiting times and unnecessary hospital visits. The service covers over half of the NHS, with more than half of calls successfully avoiding unnecessary hospital visits. Moreover, the platform’s teledermatology technology has become the most widely used in the UK. As a result, Consultant Connect has recorded 1.4 million calls placed and two million photos taken since its establishment in 2015. Dr. Emamoke Ubogu, a GP in Birmingham, attested to the value of Consultant Connect’s features in saving time and improving patient care.
