There’s a lot of discussion around physician burnout and how to address it. However, burnout should be viewed as a sign of deeper underlying issues rather than a standalone problem. Attempting to solve burnout without addressing its root causes is akin to attempting to reduce fever during a viral outbreak without addressing the virus itself.
While it’s important to address physician burnout, it’s equally important to tackle the factors that lead to it.
