Ascent Living Communities is piloting a new program called Bridge to Belonging aimed at residents in assisted living with mild cognitive impairment. The program aims to combat loneliness, boredom, and isolation by providing cognitively stimulating activities and personalized attention to residents. The goal is to eventually involve residents in service projects and volunteering in the surrounding area.
The program has already shown promising results, with positive feedback from residents, staff, and employees. Ascent Living plans to eventually roll the program out to all of its communities and hopes to improve cognition and reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation for residents. The ultimate goal is to learn from the program and adapt its lessons to benefit the entire population of Ascent Living Communities.
