Ingredients
APPLE PIE BROWN BUTTER COOKIES
Apple Topping:
- ½ tbsp butter
- ½ green apple, cubed
- ⅛ tsp cinnamon
- Pinch salt
Crumble:
- 1 tbsp almond flour
- 1 tsp zero calorie sweetener
- ½ tbsp butter, melted
Frosting:
- Preheat the oven to 350 F.
- Stir together the crumble ingredients until lumps form.
- Spread them out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 5 minutes. Let cool.
- Cook the apple in a small saucepan with butter over medium heat. Add the apple pieces, cinnamon, and salt, and cook for 5-6 minutes until the apples are tender. Remove from heat.
- In a medium mixing bowl, use a handheld mixer to beat the cream cheese and butter until well blended. Add in the remaining frosting ingredients and mix until combined.
- Transfer to a piping bag and top cookies with frosting followed by crumble and apple pieces. Cut cookies into 4 pieces and serve.
