Jennifer Garner is revealing the intense training regimen she underwent to reprise her role as Elektra in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ and we are in awe of her dedication. Garner, who first played Elektra in 2003’s Daredevil and again in 2005’s Elektra, hadn’t picked up her sais since 2004 until Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy approached her about returning to the role. Determined to get in “Marvel fit” shape, Garner and her stunt double, Shauna Duggins, intensified their training routine with a variety of workouts ranging from boxing to weightlifting to martial arts practice. The video Garner shared showcases her commitment to full-body movements, cardio, and even workouts with unconventional tools like pumpkins. Garner’s rigorous routine included daily sessions with her trainer, additional homework workouts, three weekly boxing classes, and Peloton workouts led by Becs Gentry. Her dedication caught the attention of famous friends like Ryan Reynolds and Tracee Ellis Ross, who praised her legendary efforts. Garner believes in the importance of enjoying workouts to stay motivated and emphasized the mental and physical benefits of “hard cardio.” Despite the challenges, Garner found joy in her superhero training sessions, dubbing it her #SuperHeroSummer. It’s clear that achieving superhero shape requires hard work, determination, and a lot of laughter.
