It’s time to clarify what it means to be a Health Rebel. This term is frequently used, but let’s define it more precisely. If you’re uncertain whether you fit this description, keep reading. A few years ago, I wouldn’t have considered myself a Health Rebel. I was like many midlife women, struggling to lose weight and improve my health. It seemed like a never-ending battle. I tried numerous diets, always hopeful that the next one would be the answer, only to end up back where I started. I wasted time and felt guilty and uncomfortable. And looking back, it saddens me to see others going through the same struggles. However, I discovered a better solution that is actually simple. It involves eating in a way that balances hormones, reduces insulin resistance, and heals the gut by consuming nutrient-dense proteins and healthy fats while eliminating sugar and processed foods. This isn’t commonly discussed because it goes against what the food industry and pharmaceutical companies want us to believe. As a Health Rebel, I empathize with those who are deceived and I’m willing to speak out and take different actions. Here are seven signs that you may also be a Health Rebel:
1. You distrust Big Food, Big Pharma, and Big Media.
2. You’re fed up with dieting.
3. You prioritize overall wellness over just weight loss.
