West Yorkshire trusts collaborate to share test results with Clinisys ICE OpenNet
Clinicians in five out of the six trusts in the West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYAAT) now have access to test results from their pathology network thanks to the implementation of Clinisys’ ICE OpenNet. This web-based system allows for seamless communication and reporting of results, aiding in avoiding duplicate tests and supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment decisions.
The software was successfully deployed across multiple trusts during the spring and summer of 2024, with the remaining trust expected to go live with the solution later that year. Janine Bontoft, LIMS implementation manager at WYAAT, emphasized the importance of sharing information across the network to benefit both clinicians and patients.
ICE OpenNet has revolutionized the way results are accessed by clinicians, providing a cost-effective solution for improved collaboration and patient care. With over 50,000 staff and 50 million tests ordered annually, the WYAAT rollout of ICE OpenNet stands as one of the largest in the country.
Simon Davies, project manager at Clinisys, highlighted the significant impact of ICE OpenNet on healthcare services by streamlining the process of accessing test results online in real-time. The pathology network is now exploring avenues to share results with neighboring primary and community organizations to further enhance patient care.
Furthermore, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has also integrated Clinisys’ WinPath LIMS as part of their initiative to implement a unified LIMS across the WYAAT, indicating a continued commitment to improved healthcare delivery.
