Two Yorkshire Trusts Choose Nervecentre as Preferred EPR Supplier
York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust have designated Nervecentre as their favored electronic patient record (EPR) supplier. Nervecentre emerged as the top bidder following a joint tender process, securing a 10-year contract to implement its cloud-native EPR platform for both trusts.
While the exact EPR roll-out date remains unspecified, each trust will deploy Nervecentre on a cloud-native platform with a modern software-as-a-service architecture. This setup allows for seamless integration with the broader care system while maintaining localized autonomy.
James Hawkins, chief digital and information officer at York and Scarborough, emphasized the importance of providing state-of-the-art systems to support staff in delivering outstanding healthcare consistently. He expressed delight in collaborating with Nervecentre for the digital transformation journey.
By granting clinicians access to real-time patient records on mobile devices, the EPR aims to enhance care delivery at the bedside. The availability of accurate data is poised to drive service transformation, promote system-level redesign, and empower clinicians to collaborate across trusts.
Dr. Jacqueline Andrews, executive medical director at Harrogate, echoed the sentiment of improved information accessibility leading to enhanced colleague and patient experiences. Nervecentre’s chief executive, Paul Volkaerts, expressed enthusiasm at the trust from York and Scarborough and Harrogate, expanding Nervecentre’s presence in the NHS EPR market.
In addition to the selection by the two Yorkshire trusts, Nervecentre has made significant strides in the NHS EPR sector in 2024, securing contracts with Nottingham University Hospitals, University Hospitals of Derby and Burton, Chesterfield Royal Hospital, and Northampton General Hospital.
