Survivors of disasters have valuable lessons to teach us about handling life’s challenges. In my 25 years of interviewing survivors, I’ve noticed common mindsets and techniques they used to overcome adversity. These strategies can be applied to everyday struggles as well as life-threatening situations.
When faced with overwhelming situations or seemingly unattainable goals, it’s important to fight the adrenaline rush and pause before taking action. Survivors emphasize the importance of doing the next right thing and focusing on small steps towards progress.
Survivors also find motivation in those who are important to them, whether it’s quitting smoking for their children or fighting to stay alive for loved ones. By following these tips, I have successfully navigated major life changes, and I encourage you to share your own success stories in the comments.
