Some Regeneration of Knee Cartilage Demonstrated Following Stem Cell Transplants
Recent advancements in stem cell therapies have shown promise in the treatment of degenerative joint diseases, particularly in the regeneration of knee cartilage. A new therapy known as MAG200, involving the injection of donor stem cells into the knee joint, has yielded positive results in clinical trials.
MAG200 differs from traditional stem cell therapies as it utilizes donor stem cells, making it more accessible and cost-effective for patients. In a Phase I/II trial, participants with knee osteoarthritis experienced significant improvements in pain and function after receiving MAG200 injections. MRI scans also revealed enhancements in cartilage volume and quality after 12 months.
