In a time when many senior living communities are merging with larger organizations, The Highlands at Wyomissing in Pennsylvania is taking a different path. The community recently announced the launch of Aspire for Well-Being, a new organization serving as a holding company to facilitate future growth.
Under the umbrella of Aspire for Well-Being, there will be three segments: Aspire for Well-Being Home Care, Aspire for Well-Being Healthcare, and The Highlands at Wyomissing. The community currently offers 240 apartments, 62 off-campus villas, and has plans for a new 41-apartment building that combines two home concepts.
According to CEO Kevin DeAcosta, the goal of Aspire for Well-Being is to expand services beyond the campus and compete with other local providers. The organization will operate its segments separately to protect assets and allow for intentional growth. Future services will be added to the Aspire umbrella, with a focus on the Berks County community.
The launch of Aspire for Well-Being was years in the making and aims to meet the needs of future residents. The organization has a history of innovative concepts, such as its hybrid project that fosters social connections and forgoes traditional apartment-style layouts.
