Neom, the Saudi Arabian company behind the world’s first 15-minute city, The Line, has unveiled its latest ambitious project, Aquellum. This futuristic community for global nomads will be completely encased in a mountain, making it invisible to outsiders, yet accessible from the Aqaba coast on the Red Sea through a “secret” location.
Neom envisions Aquellum as a coastal hub for hotels, apartments, retail spaces, leisure and entertainment zones, and innovative hubs, all in a vertical format.
Following the announcement of its flagship regions, including Sindalah, The Line, Trojena, and Oxagon, Neom’s Aquellum is set to include a signature space called The Generator, which houses unique research labs for disruptors, innovators, and creative thinkers, offering a platform where the future is reimagined.
While these plans are exciting, success may be hindered due to ongoing geopolitical tensions in the region, including troubles with the Yemeni Houthi terrorists. Will Neom’s visionary plans come to fruition or be affected by ongoing conflicts in the region?
