Promptly Health and Datavant join forces to improve access to European health data
Promptly Health, a rising provider of European real-world data access, and Datavant, a leader in securely connecting health data, have come together to tackle the challenges presented by the fragmented health data landscape in Europe.
The healthcare sector faces difficulties in sharing data effectively due to the scattered nature of information across various contexts and databases. The newly approved European Health Data Space regulation aims to address these issues by empowering individuals to control their health data and enhancing collaborations within the industry.
Through their collaboration, Promptly Health and Datavant will leverage their expertise in data federation, harmonisation, and tokenisation to enhance the utilization of patient data in Europe and prepare for the future European Health Data Space. By combining Datavant’s technology for matching de-identified patient records with Promptly Health’s secure data access capabilities, the partnership aims to transform routine medical data into research-grade assets.
This collaboration will provide stakeholders in the health data ecosystem with valuable insights, enabling them to expand value-based care initiatives, improve decision-making, and bridge care gaps. Pedro Ramos, CEO of Promptly Health, highlights the significance of this partnership in revolutionizing health research and innovations.
The initial focus of the collaboration will be in Iberia, with plans to expand to the UK and Sweden in the future. Devin Gilliam, General Manager for Europe and the UK at Datavant, emphasizes the importance of partnering with European leaders like Promptly Health to provide global data access to customers.
Earlier this year, NHS Wales selected Promptly Health as its technological partner for a nationwide initiative, further showcasing the company’s commitment to advancing healthcare through data.
