When I first joined Senior Planet seven years ago, it was a small nonprofit on a mission to empower older individuals with tech skills. Our meetings were filled with pizza and discussions about innovation and growth. It was a time of fun challenges and learning.
Then came COVID, a game changer that made tech skills a necessity rather than a luxury. As someone nearing 70, I am part of Senior Planet’s target audience, and I feel a strong connection to our readers. My colleagues, driven by a shared mission, have been instrumental in our success.
Thanks to Senior Planet, I’ve overcome my fear of technology. I can now FaceTime, use Zoom, and create video content. The organization has transformed my life in ways I never thought possible.
As Older Adults Technology Services celebrates its 20th anniversary, it’s a moment to reflect on our journey and look forward to the future with excitement.
