Are we ever too old for a good April Fool’s prank?
April Fool’s Pranks I’ve Pulled off and Fallen For
A few years back, I orchestrated a memorable April Fool’s prank at a local trivia bar I frequent. With a wig resembling my hair and a friend in cahoots, we staged a loud argument that had everyone in the bar on edge. And then, at the perfect moment, she dramatically yanked the wig off my head, much to the surprise and amusement of the patrons. The collective gasps and “OOOOOOOhh” that followed were priceless.
The Ultimate April Fool’s Surprise
My late husband pulled off the most unforgettable April Fool’s prank on me. Knowing my fear of the Twilight Zone episode “The Fever,” where a slot machine torments a gambler to his demise, he decided to give me a scare. When I turned on my home office computer, it greeted me with, “Okay, Virginia, let’s boogie!” The shock and fear sent me racing to him, only to find him doubled over in laughter. It was a joke that left us both in stitches.
That’s the beauty of a perfect April Fool’s prank – harmless, hilarious, and memorable for all involved.
