NTT DATA revolutionizes dementia research with cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions
In a groundbreaking move, NTT DATA has introduced two innovative solutions to support elderly individuals battling dementia by harnessing the power of artificial intelligence. The first solution, known as the Brain Bio-Digital Twin project, creates a digital replica of the brain to analyze brain function and aid in the identification and prevention of dementia and other mental illnesses. Partnering with the National Center for Neurology and Psychiatry, NTT DATA aims to pave the way for non-invasive tests, more affordable and simplified testing methods, and enhanced disease prediction and prevention.
In addition, NTT DATA is collaborating with Kokusai Motorcars on a project utilizing AI to evaluate the cognitive abilities of elderly drivers, aiming to reduce the risk of road accidents caused by cognitive impairments. By collecting driving data from senior drivers through sensors and GPS, NTT DATA will leverage AI technology to assess cognitive decline and ensure road safety.
Looking ahead, NTT DATA plans to launch the AI-based system as a cloud service, initially targeting the taxi and logistics sectors with potential applications in the insurance industry. Furthermore, the company is exploring the use of AI and deepfake technology to create digital avatars for communication with dementia patients, offering a unique approach to stimulate them through interactive dialogue.
