North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust has garnered praise from NHS England for the success of its electronic observations (eObs) and sepsis dashboard.
In July, the trust was honored with the NHS Blueprint of the Month award as their eObs platform contributed to a 36% decrease in sepsis cases across inpatient wards between 2019 and 2023.
Powered by InterSystems’ TrakCare electronic patient record (EPR) since 2015, the eObs system and Early Warning Score (EWS) sepsis dashboard have proven to be instrumental in the trust’s success.
Marie Collingwood-Graham, digital programme senior project manager at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, expressed, “This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our staff and the support of InterSystems TrakCare.”
North Tees has recently enhanced its TrakCare EPR with new features, such as digital documentation for ward admissions and real-time access to patient records from any hospital location, resulting in improved response times and patient care.
Colin Henderson, country manager for InterSystems UK&I, commended the trust for their exceptional work, stating, “The success of their eObs and EWS Sepsis Dashboard underscores the impact of innovative technology and dedicated staff on patient care.”
The NHS Blueprint of the Month award, part of the NHSE national blueprinting programme, aims to showcase successful digital transformation initiatives within the NHS, with North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust setting a high standard for others to follow.
