The North London Mental Health Partnership (NLMHP) has successfully implemented a personal health record (PHR) and patient engagement platform provided by Patients Know Best.
Comprising Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust, the partnership unveiled the solution on July 31, 2024.
By utilizing this platform, NLMHP aims to detect mental health deterioration in service users earlier, thereby reducing the need for crisis inpatient treatment.
Among its features, the platform enables sharing of vital information such as appointments and digital documents with service users. Additionally, it offers interactive tools like questionnaires, shared care planning, symptom tracking, a personalized digital resource library, and device integration.
Sarah Wilkins, Chief Digital Information Officer at NLMHP, expressed her excitement about the extended collaboration with Patients Know Best, as it will greatly benefit service users, carers, and families by providing timely and accessible access to information.
This digital solution empowers mental health service users to share their medical history in their own words, eliminating the need to repeat it to new treating professionals or teams.
Furthermore, the platform aims to enhance patient engagement, reduce no-show rates through digital correspondence, and alleviate administrative burdens on staff members.
Patients Know Best’s CEO and Founder, Mohammad Al-Ubaydli, commended NLMHP’s patient-centric digital strategy and expressed enthusiasm about being part of their journey towards improved healthcare data sharing with citizens.
The partnership’s contract with Patients Know Best was signed for a duration of three years starting in May 2024.
Noteworthy NHS organizations in London that have also partnered with Patients Know Best include North East London Integrated Care System (ICS), North West London ICS, and South East London ICS.
