NHSE Confirms No Plans to Add Social Care to DMA in 2025

Despite calls from the sector, NHS England has confirmed that there are no plans to include social care in the Digital Maturity Assessment (DMA) for the year 2025.

The DMA, launched in 2023, aims to assess the digital maturity of NHS trusts and integrated care systems in England, identifying strengths and gaps in digital services provision.

While primary care was added to the 2024 DMA, social care remains excluded, sparking discussions on the need for its inclusion to enhance healthcare integration.

Industry experts emphasize the importance of incorporating social care into the assessment to facilitate seamless collaboration between health and social care professionals, ensuring comprehensive patient care.

As discussions continue, stakeholders stress the need for integration and partnership across various care sectors to meet the evolving health and care demands of the population effectively.

NHSE spokesperson confirms that results from the 2024 DMA are undergoing validation and will be shared with relevant parties before public release, reflecting the importance of data-driven decision-making in healthcare.

In a statement, NHSE emphasizes the role of the DMA in driving digital transformation, highlighting the need for utility and accessibility in shaping future healthcare investments and initiatives.
