NHSE interim CCIO Dr Melanie Iles appointed CMO at Somerset FT

Dr. Melanie Iles, NHSE’s interim Chief Clinical Information Officer, has been appointed as the Chief Medical Officer at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. Dr. Iles will begin her new role on April 1, 2024. With her background as a paediatrician and experience in medical leadership, she is well-equipped to support the trust’s goals of providing the best care, strengthening local communities, and reducing health inequalities. Her appointment comes as the trust aims to improve health and care outcomes for the people of Somerset and benefit from the trust merger. NHSE is yet to confirm a replacement for Dr. Iles.
