An analysis from Seniorly has revealed that New Jersey, New Hampshire, and Washington are home to the cities with the most expensive assisted living communities in the country. Princeton, New Jersey, takes the top spot with an average rent of $9,711 per month, nearly double the national median. Other pricey cities include Peterborough, New Hampshire; Bedford, New Hampshire; Tacoma, Washington; and Nashua, New Hampshire. California leads in high-cost cities, while Georgia has the most cities with the lowest costs for assisted living. On the other end of the spectrum, Lake Mary, Florida, is noted as the least expensive city for assisted living. The report also highlights trends in occupancy levels and inventory growth in the senior housing market.
