The Isle of Wight NHS Trust has exciting news as they announce the upcoming launch of a state-of-the-art digital consent platform created by Concentric Health, a former finalist of Digital Health Rewired Pitchfest. Set to go live in October 2024, this platform will revolutionize the consent process for patients, allowing them to easily provide consent for procedures through a secure link sent via email or text message.
Patients will now have the convenience of using their computer, tablet, or phone to give consent and share detailed treatment and recovery information with their loved ones. This initiative comes in response to patient feedback, with a focus on enhancing the overall patient experience and ensuring informed decision-making.
Rachel Dominey, associate director of digital transformation at Isle of Wight NHS Trust, expressed enthusiasm for this new development, stating, “We are delighted to be utilizing Concentric’s application to digitize our consent process. This will not only help us meet national standards but also provide our patients with better information and support throughout their treatment journey.”
Following their success in the Pitchfest competition, Concentric Health secured significant investment and has since been adopted by multiple NHS trusts across the country. Chloe Fox, clinical operations lead at Concentric Health, highlighted the positive impact of digital consent on patient care, emphasizing the reduction of delays and cancellations on the day of surgery.
