Digital Health and Care Wales is set to revolutionize its pathology services with the implementation of InterSystems TrakCare Lab Enterprise.

Across 23 laboratories in 13 hospitals and nine health boards, this hosted lab solution will streamline and improve patient care.

InterSystems TrakCare is a comprehensive health information system that centralizes patient care records. It has already demonstrated success at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust.

After more than a decade of partnership, NHS Wales is transitioning to a fully managed service from InterSystems. This move will enhance support functions and eliminate the need for dedicated staff to manage the system, allowing resources to be reallocated for better care delivery.

InterSystems is confident that its laboratory solution will enhance accessibility and data sharing within the Wales Pathology Service, paving the way for a standardized pathology network service across the country.

Colin Henderson from InterSystems expressed excitement for the continued partnership with NHS Wales and the opportunities for transformation in healthcare delivery.
