Two seniors, Debbie (67) and Yuko (62), met in a Senior Planet class and bonded over their love for museums, photography, and walking. They decided to put their tech skills to use by launching a podcast on YouTube.
Aging with Grace and Purpose is an interview-based podcast where seniors connect, challenging aging misconceptions and enriching their lives with experience and wisdom.
How did the idea of starting a podcast together come about?
Debbie: Yuko mentioned taking coding classes at the New York Public Library, where they had a professional studio available. We saw an opportunity to create content for seniors on YouTube and connect with new people.
Yuko: The technical skills we learned at Senior Planet, like Google Suite and Canva, have been crucial for creating the podcast.
Debbie: We are also learning new tools like GarageBand for audio editing and iMovie for video editing. Collaborating on editing has been a great experience for us.

Do you have any goals for the podcast?
Yuko: Our goal is to keep growing the audience gradually and maintain a strong connection with our guests.
Debbie: Meeting new people and hearing their stories has been a rewarding experience.
What does aging with attitude mean to you?
Yuko: Aging with attitude is about staying visible and not giving up.
Debbie: Embracing each day as a new adventure and being open to what life brings.
