ICB Launches Women’s Health App by HCI with Trusted Information to Enable Self-Help
A significant amount of online health advice targets women, leading to a surge in misinformation. In response, Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board introduced CONNECTPlus, a health app specifically designed for women seeking reliable information and advice.
After gathering feedback from 1,200 individuals in the region, the ICB discovered a strong demand for an easily accessible platform dedicated to women’s health. Lizzie Mapplebeck, from the ICB, highlighted the overwhelming amount of online information available and emphasized the need for accurate and trustworthy resources.
By launching CONNECTPlus, the ICB aims to promote health inclusivity and advance health equality for women. The app covers various aspects of women’s health, including cervical screening, menstrual problems, and contraception, while also offering support for other health conditions beyond women’s health.
Provided by HCI Digital, the app equips users with the tools to self-manage their conditions, collect data on symptoms and treatments, and access digital pathways of care. This approach enables health systems to support patients remotely and deliver personalized care closer to home.
