As told to Nicole Audrey Spector
After graduating from law school, I was plagued by debilitating migraine attacks. Severe pain, nausea, and fatigue would incapacitate me for days at a time. The unpredictability of these episodes made it challenging to lead a normal life.
Despite consulting with ENTs and neurologists, traditional treatments like nasal sprays and pain pills provided no relief. Determined to uncover the root cause, I began keeping a food diary to identify potential triggers.
Through trial and error, I discovered that casein, a protein found in dairy products and other foods, was the culprit behind my migraines. Eliminating casein from my diet brought immense relief after years of suffering.
Years later, with the help of a neurologist and a preventive medication, I am now free from debilitating migraines. My journey taught me the importance of perseverance and self-advocacy in finding solutions to health challenges.
To women experiencing similar struggles, I urge you to never give up on finding answers and seeking effective treatments. Your health and well-being are worth fighting for.
